Indonesia facing a steep and bumpy pandemic road

Indonesia - with its youthful & internet-savvy population and its large domestic market - has become the seventh largest economy of the world (in PPP terms). The outbreak of COVID-19 is highlighting - and partly exacerbating - Indonesia's structural conundrums. Issues of rising economic inequality, limited health care, insufficient infrastructure, and stagnant educational standards are continuing to be considerable challenges for pro-poor growth.
